Voice and Data Structured Cabling Support
August 2009–present
Description: Installation of Category 6 Structured Cabling system consisting of 190 Category 6 data and voice cables. Cabling system comprised of one Hoffman Cabinet with cable tray systems and relay racks, but included several currently available cabinets. Installation of cabling was within two buildings and between 2 floors and consisted of Category 6 and a 62.5 micron fiber backbone. Patch panels were installed and terminated.

Outside Plant Splice Case Replacement Support
May 2009–present
Description: Identification of trouble areas and replacement of large numbers of 3M splice cases located within manholes throughout the military base with PLP Armadillo Stainless Steel splice cases. Includes resplicing cables of various sizes from 900pr to 3400pr. This project requires all safety procedures to be in place and technicians trained in confined spaces (29 CFR 1910.146).

Description: Installation of Category 6E AMP Net Connect Structured Cabling system consisting of 690 cables for 110 triplex wall drops and 120 triplex modular furniture stations. CTC installed 50 micron fiber backbones between MDF and IDF closets. Installed Chatsworth open relay racks and ladder tray systems in various closets. CTC furnished all project management, labor, onsite supervision, tooling, miscellaneous mounting hardware, and consumables for the installed cabling system.

Description: Installation of Category 5e AMP Net Connect Structured Cabling system consisting of 987 Category 5e data and voice cables. Cabling system comprised of 1 MDF and 3 IDF closets with Chatsworth cable tray systems and relay racks. MDF and IDF closets where connected with 62.5 fiber backbones. CTC also installed RG11 coax backbones between MDF and IDF’s for internal CATV system broadcast.

Installations have varied from small projects with few drops to large projects with several hundred drops. Jobs located throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Installations have consisted of Category 3 voice installations, Category 5e and Category 6 voice in addition to data installations and Audio Visual installations.

Grant and Application Support - Staff Experience

Description: Staff members provided high-level networking technical support to EPA’s Exchange Network grant program. The program distributes $25M annually to States, Territories and Tribes to develop a networking infrastructure to disseminate environmental information through EPA and to the public. Staff completed the entire life cycle of the grant application process including application database tracking system development, receipt, login, verification, and reporting; and completing a rigorous administrative and technical review on the proposed network structure submitted including reading, evaluating, feasibility review, and schema review of the application.

Experience also includes public hearings, small meeting logistical support and video-conference support. Services include pre-conference support activities, on-site support and post-conference support activities.
